Apps that can Help you Save While Travelling

Groupon

It searches for deals on restaurants, things to do, and hotels so that it significantly minimizes the work you would need to do. Use the “nearby” search feature to find deals near you or the “getaways” search feature to find discounts for upcoming trips.

Velocity

This slick reservation app offers a highly curated collection of the hottest restaurants, such as Drunken Dragon, in Miami Beach, or Petty Cash, in Los Angeles. You can also use it to pay your bill or split it with your dining companions. Among many others, it suggests nightlife spots in Aspen, Colorado, and Gstaad and Verbier, Switzerland.

Dayuse

It allows users to book hotels during daylight hours, usually with the provision that day users arrive after 9 a.m. and check out in the late afternoon. With over 4,000 hotel listings in 24 countries, the service offers a place to check-in before your accommodations allow — with particular appeal to jet-lagged fliers — and a way to gain access to hotel pools, gyms, spas and meeting space.

Uber

An excellent app, it calls the driver at your doorstep, usually cheaper than local cabs, and you don’t need to make a phone call! Just enter your starting point and the desired destination and Uber will send a driver your way. Once you enter your credit card details into the app, you don’t need to worry about having cash if you’ve just landed and not converted your currency yet.

Airbnb

This service helps you find accommodation with locals anywhere in the world. There is something for every taste – private room, shared, an entire house, among others. Besides this, there are diverse types of experiences like bike tours, crafting classes, yoga, etc. Even still, you can find prices within your budget and flexible cancellation policies.

OpenTable

It lets you simply choose a date, time, and party size to see available tables at your desired location, then hit the book button. It’s easy enough to find a restaurant based on your location or cuisine needs, and OpenTable offers plenty of helpful reviews and rating options. You can even invite your friends through the app, as well as add reservations to your calendar.

Zomato

This is one of the more popular ways to find the best restaurants, cafes,  and bars, where you’ll even be able to read blogger reviews of restaurants as well. It has an option to show the photos of the ambience of the restaurant, food on the menu that simplifies the selection of the restaurant for you.

GoEuro

In a single search it gathers many possibilities for schedules and routes with cheaper buses, train and plane tickets for any city in Europe. You can do the same searches on their website as in the app and actually find more affordable options for your budget.
